Tudor Book Club

I am excited to announce the relaunch of the Tudor Book Club! The new Book Club will be offered through Goodreads.

I hope that those of you who previously joined the book club, and many new members, will join! I think it will be very interesting, and offer a chance to discuss Tudor literature in more depth with other Tudor fans.

Here's the link to the Tudor Book Club group page.

I am hoping for us to start our first book in October, and have listed a few options to vote on. There is also an option to comment and suggest a book not on the poll.

Books currently suggested are:

Henry: Virtuous Prince by David Starkey
The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory
The Life of Elizabeth I by Alison Weir
The Autobiography of Henry VIII: With Notes by His Fool, Will Somers, by Margaret George

I tried to include a mix of fiction and non-fiction and various authors. Again, please feel free to suggest books, too!

Here's the link to the poll.

Once we decide on a book, I am going to offer a giveaway copy to one lucky member. More on that soon... :)

If you haven't joined Goodreads, I encourage you to do so. It's free and a great resource for information on books, giveaways, and other fun, booky stuff!

  1. Ι'd like to suggest Virgin and the Crab by Robert Parry!

  2. I thought you might be interested to know that my publishers are offering a giveaway of 20 books of Tudor: The Family Story on 'goodreads'. I tell the story of the Tudor family from before the wars of the Roses to the death of Elizabeth I. I have been lucky enough to have had some great reviews in the press, but more importantly readers seem to be enjoying it. I hope some of your followers will too. Tamise at is also running a Q&A with five books offered as prizes.

  3. Excellent suggestion! I really enjoyed that novel and bet others would too!
Please add it to the poll here:

  4. Thank you so much for providing us with the information and link! I will write a quick post to let my readers know :)
